Christmas!

12/29/08 - Christmas was fabulous!! Elizabeth got so many great gifts, she is definitely spoiled! Josh has commented that we don't need to do the laundry until she outgrows all of her 3-6 month clothing. We might still need to wash towels and burp cloths, but that's it!! She has a ton of beautiful new outfits. More pictures will come of the new duds and new toys in action. Thanks to everyone who made our Christmas great!

First Thanksgiving

11/27/08 -- Elizabeth enjoyed her first Thanksgiving. She wore the new ballerina sweater outfit that her Mimi got for her. It looked adorable!!She sat with her cousin Cameron to watch the parades on TV.
After a big lunch, the tryptophan kicked in for both Liz and her daddy, so they napped together. Her dad didn't take a long enough nap for her, so she continued her nap later on with her Uncle Ethan.

It's Bumbo Time!!!

11/24/08 - Lizzie's head is getting pretty steady, so we decided to start using the Bumbo chair. For her first day using it she sat on the counter while mom did dishes and cooked dinner!

Spencer's 6th Birthday!!!

11/22/08 - Spencer celebrated his 6th birthday on Saturday night. We joined in the celebration and enjoyed Paul's famous stromboli (Ellie loved it!). E is finally sturdy enough to be get some love from Uncle Paul. He did a fabulous job keeping her awake for us!

2 Months Old

11/09/08 - I'm two months old today...and smiling up a storm!!

Weekend Visitors

This weekend we had a few visitors in. Elizabeth got to hang out with a whole bunch of her grandparents all at once, what a lucky girl!
Isn't this a great picture with her loving Grammie?
E finally got to meet the last of the Woodruff family. Jeannie came to visit Lizzie on Friday night, and fully enjoyed every minute of it!

8 Week Appointment

Lizzie had her eight week doctors appointment yesterday, 11/04/08. She has grown by leaps and bounds. At two weeks she was 8 lbs. 3 oz. and 20 inches long. Now she is 11 lbs. 6 oz. and nearly 23 inches long!!! Her head circumference has increased by two inches also! Yikes! It is so exciting to watch her grow and change each and every day - what a blessing from God!

Hanging with the Neileys

The girls all hung out on Sunday afternoon! It was a fun day. Elizabeth got lots of love from her cousin, Ashlyn.
Lizzie enjoyed swinging in the big girl swing...and Ashlyn sure enjoyed pushing her.

Our Little Pumpkin

Halloween

Elizabeth received many, many Halloween outfits. This slideshow has pictures of some of them. She has also gotten a lot better at smiling, so her pictures in her ghostie shirt showcase her smirk!! She also went trick or treating in her giraffe costume. She just gets cuter and cuter (I know I'm biased!).

Time with Jackson

On Wednesday, Elizabeth, Mom, and I went to visit Katie and Jackson at their home! We just hung out for a little while. We also subjected the kiddos to a photo shoot with their Halloween outfits (not planned to kind of match) and ridiculous hats provided by Aunt Mandy!

Pop-Pop

10/25/08 - Although it was a rough weekend in Susquehanna, it was lovely to see friends and family. Pop-Pop will be missed, but his memories will not fade.

10/22/08 - Elizabeth's Pop-Pop passed away today. She is so glad that she had the opportunity to meet him and spend some time snuggling him. We know that he is in a much better place now, but he sure will be missed by all of us. Please keep everyone in our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Grandpa

Elizabeth and I are enjoying our Monday night visits to Grandma and Grandpa's while Josh is off playing darts with the guys. Here is Grandpa getting in a snuggle on one such visit.

A Gift from Scotland

Here is Elizabeth with the beautiful dress that she received as a gift from our friend, Fionna, from Scotland. She will look absolutely gorgeous in it for sure (when she grows into it!!). Thanks, Fionna! We think you'll have to make a trip over to see her wearing it in person!

Pittsburgh

This weekend we went to visit a bunch of Josh's college friends, and one of mine, in Pittsburgh. Elizabeth did great for her first road trip - and Josh and I survived as well!! On Saturday, while Josh was golfing with the guys, Lizzie and I went to the pumpkin patch with Heather and Adam. It was a gorgeous day for such a fun event. I took it as a photo opportunity as well, as is evidenced in these pictures!

Friday and Saturday night were both spent hanging out in our hotel room with Josh's college friends. Here are a few pictures from Saturday - including Livia's crazy hair and Richelle reading to Jake Musselman (another new addition to the group).

Meeting Jackson

On Tuesday, October 14, 2008, our family went to visit the Fischer family on their second night home from the hospital. I love this picture of the new daddies!

Lots of Friends

E spent the weekend enjoying times with lots of friends. Sue's college friends, Meris and Erin, came in for a few days. We had Mimi, Grandpa Mike, Uncle Ethan, and Tifany over for the Penn State game. Mandy and Casey also stopped by to meet the little one. Sunday evening we had dinner with the Woodruff Clan. Adam finally got to meet E!! It was another lovely weekend for our family. Thanks to all our visitors.

Jackson Arthur Fischer

This morning, Sunday, October 12, 2008, the world finally got to meet Jackson Arthur Fischer!! I will update as I get more information, but for now I know that he was 9 pounds and that everyone was exhausted but doing well.

One Month Old

Elizabeth turned 1 month old on Thursday, October 9, 2008, although she apparently thinks she is two months old (based on her fingers).

Another Busy Weekend

Ellie had another busy weekend! On Saturday, we went to Vestal to watch Aaron's cross country race, and he did awesome! After the race we went to lunch with the Woodruff bunch and then headed off to Grammie and Pop-Pop's house for the afternoon. Their place is awesome! While at Grammie's we got to visit with lots of people - Great Uncle Dave, Cameron, Alexandra, Maria, and Uncle Spin too! It was a very nice visit, complete with a delicious meal prepared by Grammie!

On Sunday, Ellie went to church at St. Mary's. Then she watched the Giants game in her new Giants wear (provided by her "Grandma" Cynthia!!). We hope it's not a sign that she isn't a Giants fan since she spit up all over both Giants onesies. :o) Her cousin, Ashlyn, came to visit for a bit - and Aunt Becky too. Ash enjoyed some quality time both in her swing and lovin' on E. After the game we headed down to Grovedale Winery for Grandma Linda & Grandpa Gary's 34th anniversary party. Little E got to meet lots of people, and was passed around quite a bit! It was nice to see Kelly, Nathan, and Katherine, who are in from Idaho.

E's First Real Bath

Now that her belly button is all healed up, Ellie got her first bath on Thursday night! She loved it!! She thought it was much better than the washcloth baths that she's been receiving.

Three Weeks and No Belly Button

Little E has been busy during this past week! Great Grandma Betty and Great Grandpa Dick have come to visit a couple times. They even babysat on Wednesday morning so that mommy could go for a pedicure! Friday night, Matthew Woodruff got to meet Ellie. He gave her some love, and she seemed to enjoy meeting Matt. She can't wait to meet the rest of the Woodruff family that she hasn't met yet! One morning this week, Josh decided that Ellie got her sleeping habits from her mom, as they lay in the same position in the bed! Aunt Katie and Uncle Brian had sent a card with a princess crown, so we made sure to let the princess show it off, how funny! Ashlyn and Aunt Becky came to visit Wednesday afternoon. Ashlyn was more interested than ever before. She came in looking for Elizabeth, and finally found her on the living room floor. Then she held her (for only a few seconds before becoming disinterested). Later on she sat on her mommy's lap and gave Ellie some cousin love. She put her arms around her and gave her a big hug and a couple of kisses! Too cute! Later on Wednesday night, Little E snuggled up with dad to watch some TV. Her belly button finally healed up during the night on Wednesday! Woo hoo!!!

Ellie's Room

I just got to thinking that not everyone has seen where Elizabeth is living while in our house. Here are a few pictures of her room that we took before she was born. It is a jungle theme. My good friend, Wendy Keeney, painted the palm tree and monkey ("Bananas") on the wall for us. They look amazing! Grandpa Gary made her unbelievable crib. It is so gorgeous! Last night, Saturday, she slept in her crib for the first time. She had been sleeping in a Moses Basket in our room, but made the switch last night and had a great night's sleep.

School & Family Time

On Wednesday afternoon, Elizabeth and I went to visit school. We visited my classroom, as well as both fifth grade rooms. Elizabeth was a big hit!!! I was extremely blessed to have a beautiful shower thrown to celebrate Ellie's birth. We received so many wonderful gifts, including lots of really fun clothes!!

After the baby shower at school, all three of us went to Great Grandma Kilmer's for dinner. Grandma gave Ellie the quilt she had made for her, which is absolutely gorgeous!! These pictures do not do it justice - it's unbelievable!! Make sure you ask to see it if you come by the house.

2 Weeks Old

Ellie went for her two week doctor's appointment Tuesday morning. She must be eating like a champ, because she is already up to 8 lbs., 3 oz.!! She was born at 7 lbs. even and had lost 8 ounces in the first few days. Needless to say, she's a growing girl! After her appointment she stopped and saw Grandma at school. She got to meet a lot of people around the building. After that she went to Daddy's office to hang out for a bit. In the afternoon, Ellie and Mom walked around town and visited with the girls in the administration office. Ellie even got to meet Mom's boss, Mrs. Prehm.

Trip to Aunt Becky & Uncle Rich's

Monday night, Elizabeth and Mom went with Grandma to visit Aunt Becky and Ashlyn while Uncle Rich and Grandpa were out fishing. Ashlyn enjoyed spending time with Elizabeth. She was more interested than she has been in the past. She rocked her back and forth in her car seat, patted her on the head, and poked at her nose and ears. Ashlyn was not a fan of any who was holding Elizabeth, as she felt that her spot was being taken!!! This was especially true when her daddy was holding Elizabeth - yikes! :o)

Ashlyn gives Elizabeth a kiss!

Grandma and Grandpa went shopping and here is an adorable little polar bear outfit that Grandpa picked out. Daddy is not a fan, but Mommy thinks it is adorable!!

Going to Mimi & Grandpa's

Yesterday, Saturday the 20th, Elizabeth finally got to go see Mimi and Grandpa's house! She got to meet cousins Brian and Lora, as well as the two dogs, Belle and Duke. After her visit to her grandparents, she went to check out cousin Jeff and Kim's winery. Then it was off to Gary and Gene Anne's house to watch the Penn State game. Another busy day for the beautiful little girl!

One Week Old +

Uncle Justen came home to visit this week. He finally got to meet Elizabeth on Wednesday, when she was 8 days old. He is quite taken with her.

Speaking of people who are in love, here Elizabeth is with her daddy. He's back to work this week, so little E enjoys when he comes home for lunch and to hang out with her. She knows that she already has daddy wrapped around her little bitty fingers.

Here she is looking shocked and confused, a common look. She likes hanging out in her Boppy pillow checking out what is going on around her. Thursday afternoon we went to school to visit. As the kids were leaving the building we stood outside so they could get a peek. Then we headed inside to spend some time with some of mommy's colleagues.

The Start of the Week

On Sunday, Elizabeth went to meet her friends at the Presbyterian Church. She was fantastic, giving love to Grandma through the entire service. After church, she made sure to say hello to Aunt Becky and Ashlyn. Ashlyn is interested in Elizabeth until she finds something else to be interested in (balloons, chocolate donuts, etc.). After lunch she spent the afternoon watching football with dad!

Monday night Elizabeth went to her Grandparents (Neiley's) for the first time. We hung out and had dinner. Grandma did not mind holding off on dinner in order to hold Elizabeth! We had to return home by 8:30 in order to watch Monday Night Football. Unfortunately, Elizabeth has not been the good luck charm her mom hoped for the fantasy football season. Hopefully things will pick up for this coming weekend.
